Every January the same thing happens: companies that planned in autumn publish well-thought-out campaigns, while the others improvise their Valentine’s post on the evening of 13 February. The difference isn’t creativity: it’s the calendar.
Content
This is the list of useful dates for 2027, month by month, with one golden rule before you start: you don’t have to cover them all. Pick the 10-15 occasions consistent with your industry and your audience, and plan those properly. A marketing calendar exists to say deliberate noes, not to fill every box.

How to use this calendar (method, not a list)
- Select: a maximum of 15 dates relevant to your audience.
- Classify: campaigns (few, with budget), content (posts/newsletters), minimal presence (a story, a greeting).
- Plan backwards: a Black Friday campaign is designed in September-October; an Earth Day post is written the week before.
- Leave empty space: 30% of the calendar must stay free for current events and opportunities you can’t predict.
If you want to turn the calendar into a real editorial plan for your social channels, that’s exactly what I do for my clients.
Frequently asked questions about the marketing calendar
How many occasions should an SME cover? Between 10 and 15 a year, chosen for consistency with your industry. Better 12 well-crafted pieces of content than 60 generic greetings.
When should Q4 campaigns be planned? Black Friday and Christmas are planned between September and October: creative, budget and materials ready before November.
Does it make sense to publish for every world day? No: if the occasion has nothing to do with your brand, the audience perceives it as filler. Silence is better than noise.
Are sales periods the same in every country? No: several European countries regulate sales periods locally. Check the rules for each market you operate in every year.
How do I connect the marketing calendar to the editorial calendar? The marketing calendar defines the moments; the editorial calendar translates them into concrete content for each channel, with dates, formats and owners.
